DeskActive Client Help - DeskActive Activity Tab

1

The animated character performs the activity at the recommended speed, for you to follow.

If a pink arrow appears within the animation, it indicates the direction in which you should apply pressure/force.

If a green glow appears on a body part, it indicates the area of your body where you should feel a certain stretch.

2

The instruction area provides text information about the activity, including the activity’s name, an icon indicating whether it's a stretch, exercise or other type of activity (top-right), and text instructions on how to perform the activity correctly.

It's important to read the instructions for all unfamiliar activities and ask your 'virtual' health provider if you are unsure how to perform an activity safely. This can be done easily by clicking the "Mail" button and sending them a message.

3

Tip reminders (optionally) pop-up now and again to ensure users perform activities safely. They provide brief text tips on how to perform an activity correctly - useful for all the points users forget when repeating an activity. For example 'remember to breathe whilst holding' is a tip that users should be reminded of periodically, even if they have performed the activity before.

4

The progress bar tracks your progress through the specific activity and indicates the emphasis of various key stages in activities, including "Ready" when an activity is about to start, "Go" when an activity starts, "Hold" of a stretch, "Release" of a stretch and "Relax" when you have a moment to rest.

Below the progress bar text informs you how many of the required repetitions of the activity have been completed. E.g. "2 of 4 completed".

Sometimes an icon will appear in the bottom-left with the word "Wildcard". This indicates the current activity has been randomly selected from a group of alternative activities. You're able to switch between other options by clicking the "Alternative" button (see below).

5

The progress dots tracks your progress through the reps and sets of an activity. Fill the dots to complete the activity.

If dots contain an L or R, they indicate that a left or right version of the activity is to be performed. You can either mirror or copy the animated character – as long as you swap sides when the dots progress from L to R.

Note that if 'Reps' is followed by '(5 per rep)' or similar, it indicates a rapid activity for which you will perform multiple actions to complete one 'Rep' circle.

6

The Preview button allows you to watch the animation once before actually starting your activity – useful if you haven’t seen the activity performed before.
The Character button enables you to switch between the male and female characters, "Sam" and "Sarah" respectively. You can change your default character in the options screen.

7
