DeskActive Options Screen

About The Screen

The options screen allows you to change the scheduling and presentation of sessions, mini-breaks and bullet-breaks, as well as many other preferences. Please note that some of these options may be disabled based on the setup of your company.

The options menu allows you to switch between different categories of options.

The options pane is where options can be viewed and modified.

The buttons at the bottom of the screen allow you to save changes to your options.

  • Save: Validates the options and then saves. DeskActive will refresh and start using your new options immediately.
  • Cancel: Cancels any changes made to options.

General Options

Settings

  • Enable Alert Tones: Determines whether audio tones are used across the application.
  • Change My Password: Allows you to change your password. Please note that according to your company's policies, your new password may have to adhere to certain standards.
  • Watch Get Started Movie: Clicking on the picture will introduce you to Dr. Dale, who will walkthrough DeskActive with you.

Activity Sessions

Settings

  • Enable Activity Sessions: Whether session reminders should be displayed.
  • Flash System Tray Icon: Whether and how to flash the system tray icon when a session is due. Settings include never, occasionally and constantly.
  • Display Fade-in Alert: Whether to display a fade-in alert when a session is due.
  • Play Alert Tone: Whether to play an alert tone when a session is due.
  • Alert Tone: The alert tone played when a session is due if the play alert tone is turned on.
  • Re-alert Session: How often the session is re-prompted if not completed.

Schedule

  • Display Activity Sessions Every: Whether sessions will be launched periodically and the length of periodic time.
  • Display Activity Sessions Based on Keyboard/Mouse: Whether sessions will be launched based on meeting certain keyboard/mouse/activity thresholds.
  • Display Activity Sessions Based on Schedule: Whether sessions will be launched at particular times on particular days of the week, as specified in the calendar below, which may be modified.

Presentation

  • Preferred Character: The preferred character, displayed throughout the application. Characters include Sam and Sarah.
  • Use Tip Voices: Whether voice tips are played as stretches/exercises are performed.
  • Display Activity Tips: Whether activity tips are displayed as stretches/exercises are performed.
  • Auto-Advance: Automatically advance to the next stretch/exercise as the previous was completed.

Content

  • Preferred Session Duration: The preferred duration of sessions.
  • Preferred Activities Per Session: Number of stretches/exercises displayed in a session, as long as not running in a pre-designed session.
  • Advice Entries Per Session: Number of advice entries displayed in a session, as long as not running in a pre-designed session.
  • Bonus Entries Per Session: Number of rewards displayed in a session, as long as not running in a pre-designed session.

Mini-Break Options

General

  • Enable Mini-Breaks: Whether mini-break reminders should be displayed.
  • Flash System Tray Icon: Whether and how to flash the system tray icon when a mini-break is due. Settings include never, occasionally and constantly.
  • Auto-Launch Mini-Breaks: Whether, instead of displaying a reminder when a mini-break is due, the mini-break is automatically launched.
  • Display Fade-in Alert: Whether to display a fade-in alert when a mini-break is due.
  • Play Alert Tone: Whether to play an alert tone when a mini-break is due.
  • Alert Tone: The alert tone played when a mini-break is due if the play alert tone is turned on.

Bullet-Breaks Options

General

  • Enable Bullet-Breaks: Whether bullet-breaks should be displayed.
  • Display Bullet-Breaks For: The length of time a bullet-break is displayed for before fading away.
  • Play Alert Tone: Whether to play an alert tone when a bullet-break is displayed.
  • Alert Tone: The alert tone played when a bullet-break is displayed if the play alert tone is turned on.

  • Display Bullet-Breaks Based on Keyboard/Mouse: Whether bullet-breaks will be launched based on meeting certain keyboard/mouse/activity thresholds.

Keyboard/Mouse Options

General

  • Time Without Break Mode: Specifies, that if sessions/mini-breaks/bullet-breaks are being launched based on keyboard/mouse usage, they will be raised following the specified length of time of continuous computer usage.
  • Keyboard/Mouse Mode and Thresholds: Specifies, that if sessions/mini-breaks/bullet-breaks are being launched based on keyboard/mouse usage, they will be raised following the specified number of key presses and / or mouse movements. Modes include:
    • Mouse Limit
    • Key Limit
    • Key or Mouse Limit
    • Key and Mouse Limit
  • Reset Counters Following Inactivity: The length of time that the keyboard or mouse counters are reset to zero after following computer inactivity.
